The bad news is, the hard-drive in the brand new ASUS laptop I bought at Best Buy when I was home in May died sometime Sunday night or Monday morning. Since the laptop was brand new and seemed to be working fine, I hadn’t been too worried about backing up my data. Unfortunately, among other things, I lost the post I have been working on about Greece so I will have to re-write it. The good news is I was able to buy a replacement hard-drive in Pristina for 62 euros and reinstall the operating system with the recovery disks I fortunately thought to bring along with me.
Additional good news is I am currently in Budapest Hungary for a work related conference and was able to change the flight home from here from Friday until late Sunday so I will get to spend a long week-end here. The city is beautiful. Every Eastern European city I visit is better than the last. I will write more on Budapest later.
